Find, write, test and use word lists, from the Manager window to a single blank in an edit.

How a wildcard works

One line per entry.

3::a rare line

__name__ pulls a line from another file, {a|b} picks one of two, and 3:: makes a line three times as likely. The same seed gives the same result.

Edit Command

Only the blank changes.

pose = __violet_edit/poses__
color = red | blue
item = __shirts__

Each line of the wildcards box fills one blank: item, colour, material, replacement, background, lighting, scene, pose, expression or outfit. The rest of the sentence stays as you wrote it.

Make your own

Four ways to a new file.

• Words: type or paste lines.
• Combine: merge files, pair them, or build a tag line.
• Language model: describe the topic and how many lines; your own text model writes them.
• Pictures: drop pictures and a vision model describes each as a line.

Saving never changes a library file. Your version goes in its own folder and is read first.

User guide

From a folder of text files to a filled prompt.

1. Put wildcard files where ComfyUI can see themPlain .txt files, one entry per line, in the wildcards folder next to models. Sub-folders are fine. To use a library kept somewhere else, add its folder under Options in the Manager once.
2. Open the ManagerPress Ctrl+Alt+W, use the Extensions menu, the Manage wildcards button on any wildcard node, or the Wildcards tab of the Violet sidebar. A scan of four thousand files takes about two seconds and is kept, so the next open is instant.
3. Find a fileFiles are sorted into categories (hair, makeup, pose, outfit, lighting, camera, colour and more). Files that differ only by age, body type or gender are grouped into one card. Search matches names and lines.
4. Try itOpen a card and press Roll 5 or Roll 12. The result uses the same engine as the nodes, including {a|b} choices and files pulled in with __name__.
5. Add a Wildcard Picker V2 to your workflowEach slot is a card. Choose opens the browser, Roll keeps a random line, a line number of 0 picks from the seed. The text output goes into any prompt box.
6. Fill one blank of an editConnect the picker's edit_wildcards output to the Edit Command, or write lines such as pose = __violet_edit/poses__ in its wildcards box. The sentence of the command stays as it is.
7. Write your ownNew wildcard takes words, a combination of files, a list written by your language model, or pictures described by a vision model. Your files are saved apart from the library, and moving one to the trash brings the original back.

Large word libraries are not part of any release. Point the Manager at the folder you have.
